1. Overview of Data Protection

General Information

The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data with which you can be personally identified.

Data Collection on this Website

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
The data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find their contact details in the Legal Notice (Impressum) of this website.

2. Hosting

We host the content of our website with the following provider:

When you visit our website, the hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits (for example, the requesting device's IP address, browser type and version, and the date and time of the request). This data is required to display the website and to ensure its stability and security. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a reliable and secure presentation of our website).

SSL / TLS Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" prefix in the address line and the lock symbol in your browser.

Storage Duration

Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for which it was collected no longer applies. Where we are subject to statutory retention obligations — for example under German commercial and tax law, which can require business records such as invoices to be kept for several years — the relevant data is retained for the duration of those obligations and then deleted.

Your Rights

Within the scope of the applicable law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data, free of charge:

  • the right to information about the data we store about you (Art. 15 GDPR);
  • the right to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR);
  • the right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR);
  • the right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
  • the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
  • the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR);
  • the right to withdraw consent at any time, with effect for the future, where processing is based on your consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details in the Legal Notice. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

4. Data Collection on this Website

Cookies

Our website uses so-called "cookies". Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies that are required for the website to function — for example, to keep you signed in to your account and to protect the site against misuse. These are used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where they are needed to provide a service you have requested.
  • Optional analytics, which we only use with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can give or decline this consent in the cookie banner.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

Web Analytics

With your consent, we use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service provided by our hosting provider Vercel Inc. It helps us understand aggregate visitor traffic, such as how many people visit the site and which pages are viewed. The service is designed to work without cookies and without tracking individual users across websites, and it does not create personal user profiles. If you do not consent, no analytics data is collected. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

Contact via Email or Phone

If you contact us by email or phone, your inquiry including all resulting personal data (such as your name and the content of your inquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).

5. eCommerce and Payment Providers

Processing of Customer and Contract Data

We collect, process, and use personal data only insofar as it is necessary for the establishment, content organization, or change of the legal relationship (inventory data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

We collect, process, and use personal data about the use of our internet pages (usage data) only to the extent that this is necessary to enable you to use the service or to bill you.

Payment Services

Payments on our website are processed by Stripe (Stripe, Inc. and its affiliated companies, including Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.). When you make a purchase, the payment data you enter (such as your name, billing address, and payment details) is processed directly by Stripe for the purpose of processing the payment; we do not receive or store your full card details. Stripe may also calculate applicable taxes based on your location. The processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract). For more information, please see Stripe's privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

License Activation and Software Protection

To activate a license and bind it to the device(s) on which our software runs, the software generates a technical identifier from your computer and transmits it to our activation service together with your license key. We use this identifier to verify your license, to limit the number of devices on which a license can be used, and to protect against unauthorized use. The processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the license contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in protecting our software against misuse).

Transactional Email

We send transactional emails — such as your license key and sign-in links for your account — through a specialized email delivery service acting as our processor. Only the data required to deliver these messages (such as your email address and the message content) is processed for this purpose, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
